The first of the Trigeminal Neuralgia announcements we would like to make is about TN awareness day.
Trigeminal Neuralgia Awareness Day
October 7 every year is Trigeminal Neuralgia awareness day. It has been our rendezvous for two decades now, to create awareness among the public about this rare condition.
People who suffer from TN are victims of chronic pain and have difficult social, family and professional lives. The family that lives with them also have to make a lot many adjustments to live with the disease, not just the patients themselves.
How can I help?
We encourage all patients who suffer from TN to join us in any way possible to help increase awareness, become a part of support groups, help in public education activities etc.
There are many ways in which you can contribute to this cause:
- You may share your story with the world through us; this helps other sufferers and their friends and family to understand what you live with everyday! This may be through blogs or videos that may be uploaded on Youtube.
- Become a part of support groups.
- Donating is another avenue open to help the organisations working to treat Trigeminal neuralgia. This helps in helping the poor unaffording patients to get treated. This also can contribute towards buying costly state-of-the -art equipment to perform Microvascular decompression surgeries.
If you wish to contribute in any of the above ways, please contact us here.
Dr Jaydev Panchwagh has performed more than a thousand MVD surgeries and can guide you through your treatment process, or if you want to help in any other way.
He is the Founder and Chairman of the Synapse Brain & Spine Foundation. This foundation is active in the social and scientific aspects of Neurosurgery. This organization works in association with a German Foundation called Neurochirurgische hilfe indien.
